The war between Facebook Advertising and Google Adwords is going to pick up according to an interesting statistic from a newspaper article I have just read today.

Facebook targets $2bn as it overtakes Google

What is happening is that global advertisers such as Unilever, Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble are already moving away from building expensive microsites towards constructing Facebook pages for their brands and accoridng to Ciaran Norris from Mindshare

Some of the biggest direct digital advertisers are shifting budgets from Google to Facebook

This is shown in that last week Facebook overtook Google for the first time as the most visited website in the US, according to research firm Hitwise, which clocked Facebook at 7.07 per cent of all web traffic, just ahead of Google’s 7.03 per cent

What this shows to me is that learning about Facebook advertising is going to become more and more important and tools such as what Ryan Deiss is teaching about Facebook – Facebook Ad Power is going to be huge. I covered this product back in mind February in my initial review and then the follow up detail about the facebook ad creation process

If you want to learn more about how to succeed in facebook advertising, I suggest it is time to investigate this further whilst this product is still on the market

Check out Facebook Ad Power today and see what you think

I have been reading a bit more about Facebook Ad Power and there is a bit of hype going on about this latest advertising course from Ryan Deiss but I do not like his new domain name he is using for this product http://www.newtraffichoneyhole.com - sounds wrong to me!

It seems that he may have hit on a new PPC method(not really new but the 1st to seriosuly promote the use of it) but we’ll wait and see what happens when the hype wears down and we can get some serious case studies. For now the only statistics I have are from Ryan and those on the Facebook website but when you think of the potential it is pretty huge

Facebook gets 39,000,000,000 (billion) page views every month

Facebook ads convert considerably higher that Googles at usually HALF the price or less

Facebook loves affiliates and lets them advertise not like Google

When you look at it like this, facebook advertising MAY well be a new way of advertising and can compete to some extent with Google PPC all be it on a smaller scale as people are not directly searching for a product in Facebook compared to a search engine.

If you want to know how to create an ad in facebook – have a look at my other blog post here – http://www.productlaunchvault.com/379/facebook-advertising-is-new-google-adwords/

UPDATED: There is a new Facebook advertising course out right now from Ryan Deiss Facebook Ad Power which is now taking the Internet by storm as it is such a new idea and according to Ryan very successful with great positive ROI. It was initially only going to be available for a short time but from what I have seen it will be online for a while as it is so popular.

If you want to read a bit more, you can read my initial facebook ad power review or just jump straight to the facebook ads site

I have not bought the course but it has made me think and whilst I have not yet created a new Facebook ad, I have had a look through the facebook ad creation section and what you can do and it is impressive.

Facebook -Create an Ad

Just thing about this, you have the potential of reaching over 400,000,000 active Facebook users and for each ad you create, you can target specific groups of users and can pay either as pay per click (PPC or CPC) or impression (CPM) in your local currency. Think about this, rather than using Google Adwords, you can tailor ads to 400,000,000 potential users and look at the diagram below, you can see the sort of tailoring you can do:

In terms of ad specifics, your title can have up to 25 characters, and the ad body can have up to 135 characters. You can add any sort of image which will be resized to fit in a 110px wide by 80px high box.

And now the biggie, you can target your ad based on the following criteria:

Location

Age

Sex

Keywords

Education

Workplace

Relationship Status

Relationship Interests

Languages

Look at this list and depending on what product you sell means you can really direct your ad only to the most relevant people – married or not married(think dating products), students or not students, particular, hobbies and on the story goes.

But remember – Your ad should direct users to the most relevant landing page. When a Facebook user clicks on your ad, they should be taken immediately to a page that is specific to the information or product in your ad.

Reading some of the case studies, I see using Facebook examples of a CTR of 8-12% and of course a positive ROI as you are able to get ultra targeted traffic due to the criteria you are able to target your ad to.

So, to create an ad you need to go to the following url- http://www.facebook.com/ads/create/

By the way, if you just want the link to the presentation, you can get it here -http://videosalesletters.s3.amazonaws.com/fb-salesvideo%20-%201.flv

Just been watching an interesting video about facebook advertising from Ryan Deiss about this being the new Google Adwords. Not suprising Ryan is about to launch Facebook Ad Power so the pre-launch is in full swing.

I have not seen anything like this before so it intrigued me and by all accounts, now is the time to start to learn about how to use Facebook as its popularity continues to grow.

Did you know that there are over 400 million Facebook members now and incredibly they have 39,000,000,000 (that’s BILLION) views per month.

What is amazing though with this new facebook advertising method is that you can advertise by demographics which is incredible.

How about advertising by sex, marital status, geography, interests, hobbies – now that is impressive and think about it. Whatever the niche you are in you can simply choose the demographics you are in. This means the traffic you will get is going to be ultra targeted.

Let’s use wedding planning as an example. What do you think you need to choose to advertise too?. How about single females in their 20s. Isn’t that great – your cost per click now and of course your cost per conversion will shoot up compared to Google.

Facebook Ad Power

Now that you understand the power of facebook advertising, let’s talk about what Ryan is up too.

His team have created a course called Facebook Ad Power which is a tested hundreds of ad variations, landing pages etc. and distilled this down into a course. With the price of the course, you get 12 months of updates so as things get tested and tweaked, you will get the latest updates. I like this sort of strategy as things will change and at least now you can get the benefits of updated sales copy, landing pages optimized for Facebook and much much more.

If you would like to find more, head on over to Ryan’s main site at interestingly - http://www.newtraffichoneyhole.com/or if you simply want to watch the sales video here it is

http://videosalesletters.s3.amazonaws.com/fb-salesvideo%20-%201.flv
