It’s not often I read all of a blog post from some of the internet marketers out there but this post from Andy Jenkins gave a ton of advice and is thoroughly recommended to read. I have taken out the 7 key points that Andy talked about about how he began again after leaving StomperNet and it is very insightful into what anyone can do and also looking at Andy as a person
1. Blog – The first site I built once I was on the west coast and settled in was AndyJenkinsBlog.com. I needed a place for people who knew me to find me again. And I needed a place for people to discover me. Having been on the web since before blogs existed, I have to say it’s my preferred “personality platform” nowadays. I can post my content, get comments, branch off into social sites like twitter, and build my list, right from the same site.
GAVIN Comment- Blogs and particularly using WordPress is the absolute must way to use the Internet now. If I can be blunt – other systems such as Drupal and Joomla just do not cut it and the days of just HTML are long gone.
2. List – As I mentioned above, if you want true leverage in an online business, you can’t depend on traffic sources you don’t control directly. They always say “the money is in the list” and dang if “they” aren’t right in this case. The very 2nd thing I did on my blog was to add a list opt-in and start getting subscribers
3. Content – Obviously, a blog is no good without content. So I did a couple of rock-solid freebies that proved VERY popular out there on the web. I posted them to the blog, and I emailed my list to come and get it and share it. It worked. Bigtime! I’m talking about a list of 10K subscribers built BEFORE I ever got ready to launch Video Boss, built entirely on the strength of the content on the blog
4. Offers – Now as I pointed out earlier, Video Boss was far from ready all these months ago. I knew I couldn’t just build up an audience based on freebies because without offers being made periodically, people would resent being marketed to later. Of course, selling stuff and getting paid is a good reason to make offers, too.
Without anything ready in my own product line, I promoted some rock solid stuff that was in line with the values I’d already established in my free content.
There are things that I know to be important in online business, and I promote products that will help my students reach those ends. I promote the BEST ones I can find. But there’s an ulterior motive there too. The people with the best products being offered ALSO have high-quality lists filled with customers who care about quality… and are willing to pay a premium.
5. Product – If you’ve been paying attention this month, you’ve seen me launch my “Video Boss” coaching program. I’d been developing this in the background the whole time I’d been doing the other stuff. But you’ll notice I didn’t start with the product first. I began building an audience, and a JV promotional channel, and a list building platform SIMULTANEOUSLY.
The interactions I had with partners and their launches, and with my blog and list subscribers HEAVILY influenced the development of Video Boss. So much so that if I look at it now and compare it to my first notes, you wouldn’t even recognize it.
6. Repeat – That’s really all there is to it. I’m going to take care of this class of Video Boss members, and while I do, I’ll keep posting great content (like this) to the blog and email list. I’ll keep engaging you in conversation, collecting comments, and thinking about what my next product will be. I’ll keep looking for tools and offers that you can use to grow your business.
7. Be a good guy – This one isn’t required, sadly. There are lots and lots of fortunes built on slimeball tactics and leaving others worse off than you found them.
Isn’t that just totally open and full of honesty but also full of valuable insights and information in how to start an internet business.
if you are an internet marketing beginner, there is a lot to learn here and if you do not have the know how to do all this, just read my Texas Wealth Club review, you can take the info from here and apply their knowledge to do just this.
Fantastic Andy – well done
I have just been watching some of the videos in the Texas Wealth Club launch of their new “S.A.W.S” otherwise known as the “Simple Affiliate Wealth System” or “Simple Internet Wealth System” and it actually surprised me as it was not what I expected at all i.e. affiliate marketing.
Texas Wealth Club is a new group by Matt Gill of Trafficology fame plus his friends, Eric Louviere(who does most of the talking on the videos), Justin Christianson and Jack Mize teaching you the step-by-step to making money online. Between them they have generated over $28.4 million in sales – i.e. they can walk the talk!
As part of the launch, the freeline is well and truly been moved with 21 days of free video training plus notes about each video and after watching the first few, it is actually decent material allbeit appears reasonably basic i.e. focused to internet markers starting out in making money online. Each day you get homework to set you up in your internet marketing business.
So far, I am up to day 10 of 21 – and the content is as follows:
This is really starting you off from the beginning and the focus in this video which is only 3min 20 secs is do not jump around from one way of making money to another – e.g. blogging one day, article marketing the next, affiliate marketign the next and so on. If you do this, you will get 10% good at each thing but never good enuogh to make money. What you need to be is 90% good at one thing and to stick with it. You will then see your results snowball.
I totally agree with the guys when they say Focus and stick with something that you are passionate about
The next section is some quotes from the main page of Day 1 – some of these items I really like – hence showing them here:
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that there is huge potential to make money on the Internet. But in reality, it does take much more than intelligence to succeed in Internet business. So, what is the #1 key to success online? You MUST have the proper mindset.
An “opportunity seeker” is somebody who is looking to make an unrealistic amount of money online, in an unrealistic amount of time, with little work or effort. They believe that there is some “magic formula” that will solve all of their problems and make them a ton of fast cash
In order to succeed online, you will need the following characteristics
Only then will you see success. Your clients will sense your passion and trust you more. Your partners will enjoy working with you. Your business will grow naturally.
I like the fact that they provide a workbook to assist here and they have nailed it on the head in terms of finding a niche. the steps are:
Step 1 – Isolate your strengths, skills, and interests
Step 2 – Ask others what they think your strengths are
Step 3 – Identify several potential niche markets
this continues on in Day 3 and 4 with the focus being to stick to your strengths and using tools to validate the niche markets all covered in videos namely:
https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/
All in all the S.A.W.S system is looking pretty good and better than I expected. All the 21 days content is free so it is worth signing up on the texas wealth club squeeze page to get hold of the videos – you will learn something especially if you are a newbie starting out which is really where it is focused.
Enjoy
Gavin
I don’t know if it is just me but is it internet marketing seminar season?
In the past week I have seen advertising for Armand Morin’s “Armand Morin Live” event which will be held in Los Angeles on March 12th – 14th, Perry Marshall’s Adwords Master Event Summit seminar will be held in Maui March 1st to 3rd and of course the big one being StomperNet LIVE 9 in Atlanta March 25th – 28th.
I guess the reason must be that it is spring but would love these to be more spread out a bit so more of us can attend more than one internet marketing training event due to costs.
So what are they all about well let me explain in my internet marketing seminar review or should I say preview:
This is an intensive 3 day event being run solely by Armand. What i have heard so far is that he will cover some pretty interesting topics not least the Visa/Mastercard crackdown with continuity programs which should be very interesting to see. And as good but probably boring! is the coverage on the stricter FTC regulations.
Aside from these areas which every internet marketer needs to know now, there are the following topics:
Now before I start to explain what this is – there is a BIG caveat. You must have documented evidence that you spend over $5000 on PPC every month as this is a serious training on Google Adwords
Learn about some very serious Adwords features and knowledge from Perry and his team of experts. I had a look through the speaker list and I am seriously impressed – none other than Amit Mehta from PPC Classroom, Glenn Livingston of Rocket Clicks who a friend of mine said he is one guy you must follow, Jonathan Mizel who has been around for years and will be discussing media buys and one very interesting guy who I would love to see being Richard Stokes, president of AdGooRoo.com.
Richard is purportedly going to show some really key things like:
and to quote Perry
You cannot be in the same room with Richard Stokes and not go away with 5X more insight on how the Google machine works
All in all an experts conference so head to Maui for at least a great holiday as well!
Tis is put on mainly for all the StomperNet members but there are limited tickets made available for the public for $197 but this is pretty good value considering you get 4 days of Internet marketing training for that price – bargain if you ask me.
Whereas most events are pretty standard stuff being speaker 1 speaker 2 and so on – I am very impressed with their strategy and is not so much a seminar but a full on conference with six separate tracks for breakout sessions plus the usual speakers – interestingly but there are no big headliners on this one.
Definitely not the normal event is it!
Well that’s it – any more internet marketing seminars or events comig up? Let me know and I’ll do a write up
