This is an interesting case study from the StomperMobile guys showing the power of Internet marketing using text messaging to generate buzz and therefore new customers.

http://stompermobile.s3.amazonaws.com/Trumpia%20Attic%20Case%20Study-1.pdf

In this case study The Attic – as streetwear chain in California used StomperQast the technology behind StomperMobile to create buzz around a 4th July sale.

This particular case study showed the effectiveness of mobile marketing over traditional email marketing as it is different – a 20% sales / conversion rate is pretty impressive with 232/1200 prospects on their mobile list turning up at the store

How did StomperQast help do this?

The Attic created a blog post asking for a customer to text “AtticSale” to 69302 which is the StomperQast code
Note: this method only works for users in the USA, other countries have to use different mechanisms
69302 is the StomperQast code that all customers of StomperMobile will use to get people to text too

The blog post offered a compelling offer

Result – 232 consumers turned up at the store

What is StomperMobile?

Now where StomperMobile comes in is that they will give you the technology to do this and the marketing ideas, templates and actual examples in how to use this technology. which will bring you to the leading edge of mobile marketing.

There is nothing like a new product that is NEW and EXCITING and StomperMobile from the StomperNet team looks like just that. We all know that mobile devices such as the Apple iPhone, smart phones such as the Nokia E71 which I currently use are going to be the way of the future with the iPhone at the forefront of this technology so being marketers amongst us – we MUST know how to market to mobile devices – i.e. mobile marketing

Dan Hollings a StomperNet faculty member is the brains behind this and if you check out his website, you will see what I mean – I have to admit I have never seen SMS marketing tips being sent out before but this shows you he is there NOW.

StomperMobile – Lesson 1

On entering the StomperMobile launch page and entering the usual email address(just skip by Brad Fallon!) you will get to Lesson 1 and 9 minutes of info from Dan but the real nifty thing is the follow up marketing by social media via MSN and text messaging – will it be a bit overwhelming – let’s see

In the sign up you are presented with this as part of the screen:

Just fill in your details(whatever country you are in its OK – I did this from Australia and it worked fine) as you get immediate follow ups and mobile coupons (P.S. Its a discount off StomperMobile when it is released!).

I don’t know if it is just me but is it internet marketing seminar season?

In the past week I have seen advertising for Armand Morin’s “Armand Morin Live” event which will be held in Los Angeles on March 12th – 14th, Perry Marshall’s Adwords Master Event Summit seminar will be held in Maui March 1st to 3rd and of course the big one being StomperNet LIVE 9 in Atlanta March 25th – 28th.

I guess the reason must be that it is spring but would love these to be more spread out a bit so more of us can attend more than one internet marketing training event due to costs.

So what are they all about well let me explain in my internet marketing seminar review or should I say preview:

Armand Morin Live

This is an intensive 3 day event being run solely by Armand. What i have heard so far is that he will cover some pretty interesting topics not least the Visa/Mastercard crackdown with continuity programs which should be very interesting to see. And as good but probably boring! is the coverage on the stricter FTC regulations.

Aside from these areas which every internet marketer needs to know now, there are the following topics:

How to dominate the “local search” business.
This is to me key now for small businesses – make use of Google local it is excellent

Why your “marketing sequence” is likely killing your conversions – and an easy method for quickly fixing it.
I am not too sure what is likely to be covered here, doesn’t sound overly interesting to me

How to REALLY leverage social media tools like Twitter, Facebook and Google Buzz.
Blah Blah – more social media stuff – the Google Buzz reference is interesting though as I wonder exactly where this will head – will it compete with Facebook – I doubt it

THE most effective (and highest converting) salesletter you should use
Interested to hear what is going to be said here, especially after seeing the power of video sales letters which every Internet marketer uses nowadays. This must be the way of the future and what will be covered here

Why Microsoft Bing is quickly becoming the “go-to” place for pay per click marketing and how you can easily stay ahead of your competition
Really? I doubt it in most countries – maybe in USA this could be the case but I know in other countries such as Australia that Google takes about 90% of ALL serach engine traffic. Maybe this has the better ROI but that’s it. If you don’t get any traffic who cares about ROI!

Perry Marshall – Google Adwords Master Summit

Now before I start to explain what this is – there is a BIG caveat. You must have documented evidence that you spend over $5000 on PPC every month as this is a serious training on Google Adwords

Learn about some very serious Adwords features and knowledge from Perry and his team of experts. I had a look through the speaker list and I am seriously impressed – none other than Amit Mehta from PPC Classroom, Glenn Livingston of Rocket Clicks who a friend of mine said he is one guy you must follow, Jonathan Mizel who has been around for years and will be discussing media buys and one very interesting guy who I would love to see being Richard Stokes, president of AdGooRoo.com.

Richard is purportedly going to show some really key things like:

What’s the difference between the ACTUAL number of searches Google gets, and the number they tell you in their keyword tool

What were the top 10 affiliate ads in Google in 2009

What image ads are getting the most impressions on Google’s content network this month

and to quote Perry

You cannot be in the same room with Richard Stokes and not go away with 5X more insight on how the Google machine works

All in all an experts conference so head to Maui for at least a great holiday as well!

StomperNet LIVE 9

Tis is put on mainly for all the StomperNet members but there are limited tickets made available for the public for $197 but this is pretty good value considering you get 4 days of Internet marketing training for that price – bargain if you ask me.

Whereas most events are pretty standard stuff being speaker 1 speaker 2 and so on – I am very impressed with their strategy and is not so much a seminar but a full on conference with six separate tracks for breakout sessions plus the usual speakers – interestingly but there are no big headliners on this one.

Beginner Track: Learn the basics in core disciplines like SEO and Social Media

Advanced Track: Go deep with the StomperNet faculty members

Tools Track: The StomperTools partners will be there to show you how to get the most out of the Tools

Business Models Track: Learn about eCommerce, affiliate marketing, and other profitable online models from the best in the world.

Boutique Track: Learn more about StomperNet’s boutique products like StomperSEOPro and StomperMobile

Faculty Roundtable/Site Review Track – get your website reviewed by the experts or sit with them and ask your burning questions.

Definitely not the normal event is it!

Well that’s it – any more internet marketing seminars or events comig up? Let me know and I’ll do a write up

What with Frank Kern, Jeff Johnson, Eben Pagan and Rich Schefren all having relaunches over these past couple of weeks, one of the biggest and most impressive marketing machines out there i.e. Stompernet has been quietly sending out great FREE training material on their blog at http://www.stompernetblog.com from The Net Effect magazine

The one thing about this material that I am impressed with is the detail which has been taken from the paid content in The Net Effect magazine – the monthly newsletter from the Stompernet guys which has a FREE first edition when you get Stomping The Search Engines a top class SEO course for $1.

I have glossed over the material a bit but there has been some pretty interesting material under the guise of posts with [Cheat Sheet] in the title.
How about theses topics:

4 Rules for Making More Money with PageRank

Chase the Long-tail, Not the Wrong-Tail

Create, Control, Converse, CONVERT!

20 Questions for Content Creation

I have put a quick summary of these topics below

4 Rules for Making More Money with Page Rank

This is a very interesting technical article and is key to pointing out the rules to make your Google page rank go higher. here are the three key rules mentioned.

Rule #1: Create More Web Pages

The idea here is that the only thing that creates and holds a Google Page Rank is a web page, it has nothing to do with links.

Rule #2: Your competition dictates how much Page Rank you need.

This means that you need to identify who are your competitors and make sure that your site has more pages than your competition in the market. Once you know how many – beat it

Rule #3: Improve the links between your web pages.

Make sure that all your least important pages ALWAYS link to our most important pages which invariably are your money or sales pages. Also and this is critical:

“make sure that your most important pages NEVER link to your least important pages”

Note: this point here is quoted as being the most important point
In order to do this you need to use the rel=”nofollow” method in the “a” tag on any link that you don’t want passing Google Page Rank.

The example used on the stompernet blog is Ex. http://stompernet.com” rel=”nofollow”>Click Here

The full article is available on the stompernet blog so access it here

Chase the Long-tail, Not the Wrong-Tail

Did you know that there is 20 or 30% more traffic just waiting for you to be captured if you go after the long tail however the long tail can be difficult to go after if you try the usual SEO tactics. This is where Dan Thiess from the Stompernet faculty explains how to do this. I have summarised the key points below the full article is available on the blog – http://www.stompernetblog.com.

1. Just work them in naturally, wherever you can

2. start using your long tail keywords in anchor text

3. When you’re in the long tail, it’s about the quantity and variety that contribute cumulatively to the traffic

I love this last tip from the stompernet article and quote it here:

BONUS TIP: While you’re looking at your analytics anyway, grab the keywords that people found you with ACCIDENTALLY, and start targeting those, too

Create, Control, Converse, CONVERT!

This article is all about social marketing and making sure you do things properly and do not get shunned

Firstly – Create your profile in all the key social media places – YouTube, Twitter, Linked In, Facebook and MySpace just for starters. Then create content everywhere, blogs, squidoo lenses etc.

Secondly – Control by linking all the places together and distribute content everywhere – this is just like a email list.

Thirdly – Converse with the crowd and respond on your blog and everywhere else by following where your name/brand is being mentioned e.g. by tracking this on twitter, setting up google alerts

Fourthly – Convert – this can only be done if you have built up some trust based on the content you have provided and the relationship you have built up (all very mass control if you ask me!) Once you have the trust, things you recommend (e.g. Stomping The Search Engines) will be bought as they respect you.

20 Questions for Content Creation

This article is based on the motto “content is king” as you need information for e.g. your website and blogs. Quoting from the article:

The more, the better - and the faster you can create content and deploy it, the faster you’ll start seeing increased traffic AND sales

How to do this is the basis of this article and is information gleaned from Mike Koenigs (Traffic Geyser fame). I have taken just a snippet of this full article and reproduced below, the full article is on http://www.stompernetblog.com.

1. Write down the top 10 most frequently asked questions that your visitors have about your product or service.
This is all about checking your market intelligence. Once you have the questions answer them and that is the basis of the first 10 pieces of content

2. Write down the top 10 questions your visitors SHOULD be asking about your product or service.
Then answer these questions with benefits and that’s another 10 pieces of content to add to your website, forum or any other place you have

Hopefully you found this usefu, let me know your thoughts

Best wishes
Gavin

The big formulafive launch is taking place right now and you can win a galaxy of prices by entering their new mba in a box challenge including a daily prize of a flip minohd camera. the main prize draw will be held on Sunday January 18th. Access the mba in a box report at: http://www.stomperf5.com/mba/

How about a FREE copy of FormulaFIVE including ALL Fast-Mover Bonuses, or a MacBook Pro Notebook Computer for 1st prize, 2nd prize is a Panasonic plasma TV, 3rd prize is a 16GB iPod Touch, 4th prize is a Flip MinoHD camcorder and 5th prize is a DiNovo Bluetooth keyboard.

In order to win a prize in this Challenge:

You must currently have a business in operation

You must register to participate in the contest
You must apply at least one of the specific Formula FIVE techniques discussed in any of the videos released

You must be able to prove the ‘before’ and ‘after’ details

In order to enter the competition, you must go to http://www.stomperblog.com/f5-registration/ and register.

Once you have registered at the above link, you need to go to this page http://www.stomperblog.com/2009/01/08/f5-diary/ and enter your experience showing how the techniques you have learnt form the FormulaFive videos have improved your business. You will need to show:

The business problem – The “Before” status

The number and type of specific FormulaFIVE techniques implemented

Which one(s) you did and how you implemented them

Time it took to get the first result

Level of success (% increase in sales, margin, etc)

Projected Long?Term Impact on the Business

The most simple technique I saw in the video is increasing your price such that your net profits increase by 15% “on a wing and a prayer” so it can’t be hard can it?. Increasing your value proposition is also not too hard to implement by examining your offer carefully.

In order to increase your entries in this competition, make sure you implement more than 1 technique as each techinque means one entry and even better, post a video on YouTube with your entry and you get double the entries.

When you look at the marketing here, they are creating serious buzz with the mba in a box challenge, especially the daily prizes and even better, entering them on YouTube and using social media to power the links through to the FormulaFive site is a masterpiece. What a great way of driving FormulaFive.

Go for it and hope you win something

Best Wishes
Gavin

I have just finished watching the main formula five video, all 1 hour and 13 minutes of it and it’s pretty damm good. Paul Lemberg clearly is a very smart person and has a ton of experience helping businesses grow, as he alludes to in the video plus the numerous case studies he talks about.

So, the formula five system’s main goal is to:

“Help you build your businesses revenue and profits without doing a ton of extra work, doing this by improving 5 key areas by 15% each”

This means that the system is primarily about helping existing businesses grow and how do they do this, well it is all about five key subject areas which in the formula five system, are:

Deliver a strong value proposition that leads to strong pricing that leads to strong margins

Deliver continual stream of leads and business opportunities

Cost-effectively and consistently converts leads into paying customers

Have a way to fully monetize customers intead of selling just one time

Have effectiveness and efficiency so that people get enough done day in and day out

And in formula five jargon, these five steps are called:

Margin magnifier

Sales stackers

Lead landslide

Conversion control

Turbo thruster

Each one of these steps is covered in detail in the video, with tips and tricks as to what to do and I will be covering them in detail in my upcoming formula five launch report which has just been started and looks like being around 20 pages long. Watch this space!

So far, the launch has consisted of one video which is on the main sales page with the contents showing a list of students who have already followed the system making on average it seems between 10-30% increase in revenue after spennding under 10 hours and most seem to be around 2-3 hours work. Accoriding to the sales page, the presentation which the students are talking about will be relevealed to everyone who signs up then.
